AFS had highly professional technicians to work on my project. They arrived early and completed an estimated three-day job in two days. John, Darien and DKota were efficient, practical and novel in their approach to working around water and gas outlets, electrical breakers and a large AC unit. The tractor they used had to carefully be moved into place between a retaining wall and the home's 60-year old awning. Lifting the 60-year old addition to a 74-year old home was no small feat, but done expertly by the AFS crew.

Our realtor recommended Alpha, and the team responded quickly and professionally. They showed up on time, ready to work, and clearly knew what they were doing. Along the way, we did run into a small hiccup—some grout leakage during the install. But what really stood out was how the team handled it. The root cause (a joint alignment issue) was identified, they took ownership, and resolved it the right way. No excuses—just problem-solving and follow-through. By the end, everything was properly sealed, the work area was clean, and the job was done with care. Most importantly, the team maintained a positive attitude throughout—there were even a few smiles and light moments along the way, which we appreciated. I talked with 3 companies regarding a moisture/mold problem in my basement and was most impressed with Tar Heel Basements. The initial inspector was thorough and knowledgeable, spending more time checking my foundation both inside and out than Tar Heel's competitors. He answered a lot of questions and assisted with the interest free financing. It was an expensive repair that I was very stressed about, but Tar Heel made it as easy as possible. Once the scheduled week arrived, the technicians provided advanced notice of arrival each day, and showed up on time or early. They kept me informed throughout the process and answered numerous questions. They hung plastic to protect my belongings from the dust and advised regarding their findings (such as termites) as they removed walls and insulation. They coordinated with the electricians for installing power to the sump pump and made sure they cleaned up. Tar Heel kept everything clean and even mopped my floor once the work was completed. I'm very appreciative of Nathan Griffin, Zac Mathis, and James Passmore for their hard work, and the care and consideration they provided while working in my home.

A plumber referred us to groundworks, they were able to get us in for an inspection with James tobin the next day. James was super friendly, he explained his process thoroughly and answered all of my questions without making me feel dumb. He was able to pinpoint the cause of the leak in our basement and help me understand why we had this issue. By the end of the inspection i had a better undertanding and had peace of mind that we adressed the issue. I would strongly recommend hiring groundworks for an inspection if you are buying a home with a basement.

We had flooding in our crawlspace and had Groundworks put in a French drain, sump pump and seal up the whole thing. Tyler, Juan and Josh did a great job! We barely noticed they were here, they cleaned up when the job was done and communicated where they were at the end of each day. Was a smooth transaction on our end.

On our one year follow-up inspection, items were identified and promptly corrected. Our front porch had settled about a 1/2 inch since it was raised. Jess W and Zach B came out and FULLY explained everything they were going to do. They went about their job immediately and completed it in short order, with NO shortcuts. They explained to me why it had settled in a year's time and what it would take to fix it. They quoted me the price and it was extremely reasonable compared to me having to acquire the materials and tools to do it. It LOOKS GREAT! We could not be more pleased. Thanks so much Jess and Zach!

I'm giving 5 stars even though we were unable to have Groundworks complete our job as planned. They bumped us up two weeks ahead of schedule. When they came to the house they found that the work order was missing a bunch of additional things that needed to be added to complete the job. There was a miscommunication between the individuals who wrote the job plan and the workers. The foreman, Cale showed genuine empathy and did everything he could to try and see if it was possible to do the job within our original price range. While Cale moved back and fourth inspecting our crawl space and calling the office to try to find a solution, Joey, Gauge and Brad helped brainstorm and entertain my toddler. When ultimately we would be unable to afford the job after the job was written properly, they were still kind and gave us a direct contact to chat with on the best way to move forward. My Husband spoke with Martin and he was very informative, honest and helpful. Despite us not being able to move forward with our project as planned, we will definitely be going with Groundworks in the future. Everyone we worked with was kind, honest and professional.

Evan, Jorge, and Aldo did a fantastic job. They were quick ( they stayed until a 2 day job was finished in 1), efficient and even acted like they liked our cooking (we made them take a break to eat lunch with us). When the job was finished everything was super clean. They explained everything they did, the warranty, the pump and dehumidifier and the floor and wall coverings.We have used AFS twice now and would highly recommend them.
